Yesterday I went to Maymont. I don't ever remember a time when I didn't thoroughly enjoy going there and when all is said and done, it's one of my favourite places in the world. I'm very glad it's here in Richmond. Anywho, I took my trusty little digital camera and got a few shots just for ideas.
Just above the hill where the black bears live, I found a ginko which was starting to turn. I played around with the leaves like so:

Love your "nature art"! I do that with pine needles sometimes. Or beach pebbles.
Gingko leaves... mmmmm! Wouldn't be willing to trade something for a few wouldja?
And speaking of trades... anything you'd take for that pretty kitty?
;)
~altjoujou, wishing she could visit Maymont, too...!
I'd be more than happy to go back and collect a few ginko leaves but at the moment, they're probably a bit on the wet side. It's been cold and damp here all weekend. A good day to stay inside and create!
I doubt I could give that pretty kitty up for anything at the moment. He's my baby precious (except at 3am when he won't leave his big brother alone).
You and Andy Goldsworthy!
I love making arragnements too, and photographing them...and printing them...and quilting with it....too fun. Try it!
I'm thinking of doing a large wall hanging with some blue printed ginko leaves. I think I may need to find a way to work some peacock feathers in as well.... excuse me while I grab my sketch book...
This is a great idea! I often look at leaves and think how beautiful they are, but never thought of arranging them artistically.
